PRE-ARR Lehna grew up in the Sharlayan colony in the Dravanian Hinterlands until she was age 7 with her father and twin brother, Minho. With Garlemald invading Eorzea, the colony needed to flee--but Lehna didn't want to. She ran away, not knowing any better. This led her to meeting a hyuran mercenary named Zach who unwillingly took her under his wing in an attempt to take her home. Given her mother was rumored to be part of a Keeper of the Moon clan in Eorzea, he thought that would be easier than shipping her off to Old Sharlayan. He was wrong.Lehna's mother was part of a Keeper of the Moon cult that detested Menphina. Lehna's Echo led them to believe that she was meant to be their savior. They worshipped her until Zach was eventually pushed out of the territory--but suspecting something was wrong, he returned to discover that Lehna's mother was not only allowing the cult to turn Lehna into a god (a primal), but heading the effort. Before the ceremony could begin, Zach kidnapped Lehna and fought his way out of the cult's territory.In total, Lehna and Zach spent around a year together. He trained her the basics of combat so that she could defend herself if it came to that. Eventually, he heard word of her father frantically looking for her and offering a reward for anyone with information on her return. Despite the past experience with her mother, Zach thought it would be better for Lehna to grow up in a more stable environment and returned her to Old Sharlayan despite her wishes, claiming he only cared for the reward her father offered even though they both knew that was not true.Lehna's father was in near-tears when she returned and immediately offered Zach a place in the household as Lehna's personal trainer. He trained her between his adventures before eventually Eorzea and the Circle of Knowing requested his help--after the Calamity, Zach was never heard from again and presumed dead.A REALM REBORN Lehna had a difficult relationship with her father and was determined to figure out what exactly had happened to Zach, who she considered her true father. She made her way to Eorzea and followed the canon storyline of ARR for the most part, eventually becoming the Warrior of Light. During this period she also took on the mantle of the Azure Dragoon alongside Estinien Varlineau, and the two of them forged a strong bond via their shared connection to Nidhogg.HEAVENSWARD Betrayed by those she thought her friends and allies, Lehna did not hesitate to do whatever was asked of her by the Fortemps family. Having grown up in the Dravanian Hinterlands herself, she sympathized greatly with Ysayle and wanted more than anything to get Lady Iceheart and Estinien on the same page, for both of them to understand where the other was coming from.Although they had forged a strong friendship, once Lord Commander Aymeric attacked the Nidhogg-possessed Estinien, she lost all faith she had once had in Aymeric. Lehna hated how easily those in charge would sacrifice their friends for "the greater good"--remembering how Merlwyb and Kan-E-Senna had abandoned her after the Bloody Banquet. Once all was said and done, Lehna saved Estinien from Nidhogg's grasp and trapped his aether within herself--overpowering him thanks to Hydaelyn's blessing. This granted her the ability to semiprime into a draconic version of herself as well as, very rarely, transform into Nidhogg himself.Lehna was also a great asset to the Skysteel Manufactory and discovered her aptitude for all things mechanical. Although this allowed her to become an extremely skilled machinist, Lehna rarely used her skills outside of Stephanivien's requests for assistance.STORMBLOOD Lehna assisted Lyse however Lyse required her help. However, despite her assistance--Lehna had not expected Lyse to leave the Scions. Given Lehna's distrust of those in power, the two's friendship was greatly fractured. Lyse understood--and disagreed with--Lehna's reasonings, and despite everything still considered Lehna one of her greatest friends. Lyse gave Lehna the broach she often wore in her hair and, despite herself, Lehna accepted the token of their friendship.SHADOWBRINGERS Lehna did not trust the Crystal Exarch even though she knew he was G'raha Tia all along. It was only with the insistence of the Scions that she agreed to go along with the Exarch's plans for the First--and the fact that Lehna could not allow so many to suffer if she could help it.The Light, however, impacted her more than anyone expected. It swung her aether out of alignment and severed her connection to Nidhogg. Her skills as a dragoon were gone and she had little confidence in her combat ability without it. This is when she decided to take on the mantle of gunbreaker with Thancred's help. She used her knowledge as a machinist to make the job her own--a hybrid between the two jobs that used a gunblade she had customized herself.Ardbert's sacrifice re-aligned her aether and gave her control of Nidhogg once more, though at this point her confidence had grown enough to use both job stones in tandem with one another and flip back and forth. Ardbert now lives in her head, and she is not certain if the things he says to her are real or imagined.ENDWALKER Though she resisted, Lehna knew she had no option than to return to Old Sharlayan. Her father was happy to see her and criticize her actions, wishing she had focused more on her education than on fighting and violence. Her brother, however, was happy she was thriving and had found her place in the world.There were several moments Lehna nearly turned into a blasphemy herself. Her friends managed to keep her from the worst of it. Visiting Elpis gave Lehna a new perspective on the world--and her previous life's role as Azem. Venat was like the mother she had never had--and it made her realize that Hydaelyn had always been there even when her own mother had not. Defeating Hydaelyn was the most difficult think Lehna had ever done--not physically, but mentally. But she did what had to be done.CURRENT Lehna and Estinien train the Radiant Host together in Thavnair, spending most if not all of their time together. They prepare to visit Tural and wish to adventure together--this time more for the thirst for adventure rather than the safety of the star.
